Munchkin Lane

Munchkin Lane is, as you would imagine from the name, a ‘family-friendly coffee shop’. Occupying two floors it is much larger than first appears. On the ground floor is a more conventional café where you can happily have a bite to eat or a cup of English BreakfastTea/Americano/Latte/Flavoured Coffee (from £1.20). In the basement there is a whole new world for younger children to explore. It’s very cosy and has a den for your little darlings to have a bit of fun in with books, toys, games and drawing materials. Four mornings a week they have children’s activities – Music Groups and a Puppet Show and the whole area is secured by a child gate on the stairs, so completely safe and thus relaxing for mum or dad!

Now on to the food – it covers an enormous range: home baked cakes (yummy) and muffins (£1.80), Cream Tea for Two (£5.60), and Filled Bagels from £3.40, Sandwiches and Salads (£2.50/£4.50). The Spicy Pepperoni & Feta Pasta was incredibly good value and very tasty at £5.70. The menu goes on and on – including organic Baby Food in Jars – quite a smart move for the scrummy mummy who wants to feed baby something yummy! Also available for hire at weekends.
