A cornucopia of cooking talent is heading for Bath next month for this year’s Great Bath Feast.  Over the month October the city will kick off the event with a charity dinner held in the historic Abbey, cooking demonstrations and many great offers from restaurants and hotels.  Lots of celebrity chefs will be in attendance; Mary Berry, Angela Hartnet, Nathan Outlaw, Raymond Blanc, Michael Caines and Rachel Khoo are a few of the nations favourite TV chefs showing us how to create wonderful food.

Jonathan Overton, Chairman of The Association of Bath Restaurants says “In many ways the Great Bath Feast mirrors all the wonderful things that make Bath such an individual city for food lovers.  Just like Bath itself the Great Bath Feast is a collection of exceptional individual events being run by passionate and inspiring individuals throughout the City of Bath in October”.

The Royal Crescent Hotel Afternoon Tea

It might be just the chance we all need to do a bit of early Christmas shopping, Bath has a fantastic food heritage and is packed with independent shops selling all sorts of comestible goodies.  Maybe staying at The Bath Priory Hotel with a Michelin starred restaurant would suit?  Or how about staying at the Royal Crescent Hotel?  With a recent refurbished restaurant, The Dower House where you can enjoy 3 AA Rosette dining.  You might want to get stuck in and learn how to make bread?  No problem just head along to The Bertinet Bakery where you can learn to make just about any bread you care to mention.  It’s a really good fun for a group of friends or your family.  What to put on your homemade bread?  Well how about some fine cheese from The Fine Cheese Co, providing some of the county’s best kept cheeses and preserves, this is really worth a look in, there is also a super café next to it.

Local hotels support this massive gastro event, some are offering packages to stay and tie in with events taking place in the City.  Bath is an ideal place for families to visit for a weekend or the autumn half term break at the end of October why not click on the link below and plan your trip?
